Types of diesel fuel

There are several types of diesel fuel that differ in their properties and characteristics:

High iron content in gasoline inevitably leads to various engine problems.

  1. Class "A" diesel fuel is the highest quality fuel, which is characterized by a high cetane number (more than 50 units) and low sulfur content (up to 0.005%). It is used in modern high-tech diesel engines, operated using high quality fuel and equipped with emission neutralization systems.
  2. Class "B" diesel fuel is a medium quality fuel with a cetane number ranging from 45 to 50 units, allowing sulfur content up to 0.2%. Used in older diesel engines that are not equipped with emission control systems.

Each type of diesel fuel has its advantages and disadvantages, and the choice of a particular type depends on the requirements of the vehicle manufacturer, climatic conditions and other factors.

  3. Winter Diesel is a fuel that is designed for use in winter. Contains additives that prevent the formation of paraffin in the fuel at low temperatures.
  4. Biodiesel is a fuel that is produced from vegetable oils or animal fats. Considered environmentally friendly, as opposed to traditional diesel fuel. Can be used in conventional diesel engines without additional modifications.
